Caring people are always around, you just have to know where to look. Maybe you are socialising with the wrong sort of people. Its like when you watch a movie about war you sort of know what to expect.
You can try signing yourself unto groups that do charity work and samaritan work, also groups that visit the elderly and sick people to try and cheer them up. If you take that tiny step you will be surrounded by like-minded people, you just have to know where to find them.

I know that it can be hard to find people who are willing to love and care about each other. Don't give up though! As long as you are willing to hold onto those attributes you will spread it around. Even if you aren't aware of it!
