How many times do you get a text from a friend, then you reply, only to find they have then turned their phone off and is ages before they turn it back on again? Lol.

I have a friend who does that all the time. We hav etold her to keep her phone on all the time, says that'll happen, but it doesn't.

Sometimes, I wait 3 days before they turn their mobile back on.

It is a bit annoying isn't it, when that happens?

Also, you arrange to go out. Running a bit late, you go to phone them to let them know - their damn phone's off!  Roll Eyes  Grin

i live in a rural area where i do not get a signal at my house, so i do not have any sort of texting plan for this reason.

I do most of my texting online.

i'd like to get a nice packaged either way when i can afford it.  many other things take priority for now.

Ah right. I thought everywhere over there, had better Network coverage than over here. We still have places not so good, but mostly there isn't anymwhere we can't get signal.

I have not done internet texting, need to read up on how it works.

umm, well i meant like yahoo messenger for internet texting between messengers.  but yes you can even us that to text peoples phones etc.

there are also other services as far as i know.

The united states is far too big to cover the whole country with good service.  We have a lot of service areas but a lot of dead areas as well.

The UK has the advantage of being smaller so it is easier to cover them as a whole imho

Ah right, yes I saw that in IM, but never tried it, as no idea what I am doing. LOL.

Yes, America is vast area-wise compared to here, hence better network for signal here, although not so good at all near the coastal places, I have to say.

Exactly! I wouldn't buy one if turning it off and no plans to bother with it. It is a drag when they do that. Luckily, only a couple opf friends do that.
